Protest/wake in front of McSally's office after expected House passage of bill will remind her lives at stake, 2018 coming sooner than she thinks
Indivisible Southern Arizona will be out in force 5 p.m. Thursday, May 4th, 2017, in front of Rep. McSally's office, 4400 E. Broadway Blvd., with our by now well-used tombstones, and huge eyes to remind McSally that we are watching every vote and every action that puts Arizonans in danger. This protest is a follow-up to our "Die-in" this past Friday, which was covered by national media and watched by millions.
Meet the New Bill, Worse than the Old Bill
House Republicans will vote tomorrow around noon on a version of Trumpcare that will cause millions of people with pre-existing conditions to lose health coverage and possibly die. The bill, which will add $8 billion to help people buy insurance in "high-risk" pools, is billions less than needed. The bill will still strip mandatory coverage for maternity care, preventative health screening, emergency care, prescriptions, and just about everything that people need health insurance for.
Shame on McSally
But this bill that almost every health care group predicts will have dire consequences is just fine with Martha McSally, who still refuses to reveal her vote after repeated calls, but who is listed by more than ten national congressional media trackers as a "YES" vote for the new bill.
Indivisible Southern Arizona will be on the sidewalk in front of McSally's office whether or not the vote is taken or the bill passes, to remind her that the "ACHA Kills."
Indivisible Southern Arizona consists of more than 2,600 citizens from Arizona congressional districts 1, 2 and 3 who are committed to resisting the radical portions of President Donald Trump's agenda. The grassroots organization is part of a larger Indivisible movement comprised of more than 4,500 similar groups throughout the country.
